Design and build

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 is a class, inside and black metallic finish with chrome. The screen lid with the Fujitsu logo, and before the center, and the name of the company and a small logo on the top edge. Inside, by bezel palmrest, keyboard and screen of the same metallic finish trim black with chrome around the touch pad and along the front edge. If all the stickers were removed from the body of the laptop Lifebook AH550 I think is one of the smartest laptop around to see.

Build quality is average compared to other generation of consumer notebooks and small size. Billboards, including the palm and the screen cover, some bending, but nothing that stands out. Palm, the optical drive is more than some people give. Taken a laptop around, the place is flexible upwards from the bottom and inside the cavity with no optical drive. The paint finish is of excellent quality holds up admirably free of scratches and scuffs. Everything, even the Palm is an opaque plastic, which is very glossy black finish and also helps to hide the abuse newspaper. Like most of Fujitsu notebooks, this model also offers a removable filter air to the bottom.

Fujitsu provides users with easy access to the hard drive and system memory, the two panels on the bottom of a laptop. One area that may be of concern is the future of fashion, where the battery is installed, the spring clips instead of plastic blocks. If a clip has never been broken or lost the thrill of the battery will no longer get stuck in the system.

Keyboard and Touchpad

LifeBook AH550 The keyboard has a very comfortable professional quality that is easy to type on and gives an excellent tactile response. Keyboard support is excellent, even more ruthless in the classification with the main task for the individual mechanisms. Key wobble just this biggest key was smooth despite the travel offset presses that can sometimes cause blockages. The keyboard is both full-size spill-resistant with a keypad. The provision was easy to get used to the difference in some models, the keyboard is not only the buttons on the main section of the keyboard.

For a multimedia notebook, we were surprised to see no dedicated multimedia keys or function keys repurposed of any kind. The only extra button on the laptop has been a key support next to the power button.

Touchpad with LifeBook AH550 is a medium-size model of ALPS some multitouch capabilities. The sensitivity was excellent, and we found only a small delay of extensive testing. A long, click and drag to move the touchpad sometimes uncheck dragging and we were stuck in a different symbol and move it. Adjusting the settings seemed to improve this problem, but we never had this problem, the Synaptics touchpad. Gestures are supported pan scroll, pinch, zoom and rotation. Along with the standard up and down the roll, it also supports the chiral (circular) scrolling action added to the occasion.

Screen and speakers

The AH550 has a choice of screen resolution integrated and dedicated graphic variants. Both systems include a backlit LED panel with a resolution of 1366x768 WXGA. These days, I wonder when the mid-range models do not offer a screen resolution of 1600x900 HD compatible, especially if multimedia oriented. The plaque itself with color and contrast of good average. The glossy screen surface helped to give the appearance of the color saturation of colors and improved black levels. Screen brightness was good to see in bright conditions for the position, but with an advanced level of illumination measured at 190 nits, it was not bright enough to see outdoors.

AH550 speakers are located above the keyboard and the sound less than the average compared to other multimedia-oriented notebooks. Low and medium volumes were up very weak inadequate even for small environments. Listening to music or talk to someone VOIP software, which work well, however, left much to be desired. Headphones or digital audio over HDMI would be better to listen to music.

Ports and Features

Fujitsu LifeBook AH550 offered a good selection of ports including four USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI-out, LAN and analog audio. Expansion slots includes a SDHC compatible card reader and ExpressCard/54 slot. The development of the port at the rear was crowded with three USB 2.0 ports, slots are located right next to each other. This configuration can block other ports if you have a large device to plug in.
